As production occurred in Japan, The Powerpuff Girls original series creator Craig McCracken was not actively involved with the project. The series featured character designs by Miho Shimogasa, who was the character designer of Cutie Honey Flash and Ultra Maniac and one of the animation directors of Sailor Moon.
